Pro Bono Support
Simon undertakes limited pro bono work where specialist support is urgently needed and funding has not yet been secured.
Requests are considered individually, particularly where there is:
- A humanitarian emergency
- A significant social or environmental need
- An urgent threat to public health or community wellbeing
- Potential to develop lasting professional or institutional capacity
- A credible early-stage initiative that could attract future support
Following the Indian Ocean tsunami, Simon supported an international faith-based NGO working with affected communities in the immediate aftermath. He has also mentored people developing careers in waste and resource management.
This commitment is shared across Simon’s professional network. For example, a colleague supported a young African professional towards qualification as a waste manager, showing how knowledge, encouragement and connections can transform lives and strengthen local capacity.
As time for pro bono assignments is limited, Simon cannot support every request. Assistance is discretionary, subject to availability, and does not commit him to ongoing or comprehensive services.
However, Simon will consider compelling challenges, urgent situations and early-stage initiatives where modest professional input could make a meaningful difference.
Individuals and organisations with urgent needs and limited financial resources are invited to contact Simon with:
- A concise description of the situation
- The location and communities involved
- The assistance required
- The urgency and likely consequences
- Available or prospective funding
- The difference limited professional support could make
Where a full pro bono assignment is not possible, Simon may suggest alternative resources, potential partners or a limited initial approach.
